Sometimes in life, things happen beyond our control, guiding us toward the decisions we truly desire in our hearts. I would like to share one such incident from my journey.
After I was forced to leave a pharmaceutical company, I started a small custom synthesis business. However, being shy and hesitant to talk to people to secure projects, I struggled and lost a significant portion of my savings.
During this challenging period, a friend in Bangalore invited me to visit his company and meet some key decision-makers. While visiting my hometown, I took the opportunity to stop by his company. After the visit, he offered me a job in Bangalore. Given my financial difficulties, I reluctantly considered accepting the offer, even though the salary was quite low.
I tried negotiating with the Head of Human Resources for a better package, but there was no flexibility. Given my situation, I decided to accept the offer. The HR head emailed me the offer letter, and although I wasn’t happy with the terms, I resolved to sign and return it.
Just as I picked up a pen to sign the letter, my phone rang. It was the HR head, telling me to hold off on signing and wait a few months for a new joining date.
Taking this as a sign from the universe, I decided against moving to Bangalore for the job. A few months later, significant changes occurred within the company, and even my friend ended up leaving. Meanwhile, my own situation gradually improved.
Looking back, I believe nature, the universe, or perhaps my family’s gods and goddesses made the decision for me—and I am grateful for it.
Following Instincts: A Lesson in Trusting the Unknown
In life, we often have no control over certain events, yet they sometimes lead us to decisions our heart truly desires. I’d like to share one such experience from my journey.
After being forced to leave a pharmaceutical company, I started a small custom synthesis business. However, as someone naturally shy about networking, I struggled to secure projects and was rapidly losing my savings. Around this time, a friend in Bangalore invited me to visit his company and meet a few key decision-makers. During my visit, he offered me a job. Given my financial difficulties, I seriously considered accepting it, even though the salary was low.
I tried negotiating with the Head of Human Resources, but there was no flexibility on the pay. Reluctantly, I agreed and received the official offer letter. Although I wasn’t happy with the offer, I decided to sign and return it. Just as I picked up my pen, my phone rang—it was the Head of HR. He unexpectedly asked me to wait a few months before sending the signed offer back, promising to reach out with a revised joining date later.
I took this as a sign. Instead of moving to Bangalore, I decided to stay put and focus on my business. A few months later, significant changes occurred in the company, and even my friend ended up leaving. Meanwhile, my situation slowly improved, and my business started gaining traction.
Looking back, I truly believe that nature, the universe, or perhaps my family’s gods and goddesses guided me in making the right decision.
